Terms of Service (Extension)

  1. Scope
    These Terms of Service set the conditions for using the browser extension "VLM Camera" ("the Extension"). The web service that provides backup linkage, notifications, authorization, billing, and related features (e.g. yourcut.net) is governed by separate web service terms. The Extension and the web service are separate, and their responsibilities are separate.
  2. Nature and Purpose
    The Extension is a productivity / personal-use aid that analyzes camera frames on-device with VLMs, OCR, and related components to generate descriptions and assist with condition-based detection. Analysis and detection are probabilistic estimates, not definitive judgments. Continuous guaranteed monitoring, zero false detections, 24/7 operation, and evidence preservation are not intended uses and are not warranted. The Extension may be discontinued without prior notice.
  3. Free and As-Is
    The Extension is provided completely free of charge, with no warranty of operation, accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Device performance, cameras, OS, browser, WebGPU availability, camera use by other apps / extensions / sites, PC sleep / hibernation, quitting Chrome, or disabling the Extension may prevent expected behavior. The provider is not liable for damages arising therefrom.
  4. Legal Compliance
    Users (including administrators) must use the Extension in compliance with the laws of their country or region. Where camera installation, capture, or recording requires notices or consent, the deployer must handle that. If long-term log retention is prohibited or limited, adjust retention settings accordingly.
  5. Data Handling
    Images and video are not stored or transmitted as history, backup, or notification content. The Extension may temporarily keep the latest capture frame on the device for on-screen review. Local AI responses and prompts are stored encrypted. Optional cloud features may back up text responses to your own Google Drive (plaintext by default; optional encryption; keys are not stored on Drive and, when linked, are also stored per device on the web service). Notification linkage and device registration data may sync with the web service. Community templates share only model plus prompt / detection settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.
  6. Administrator Eligibility and Responsibility
    Administrators of the Extension must be adults (18 years or older) and able to take responsibility for the deployment environment and, when enabled, backup and notification data. Management of Google Drive backups, notification receiving devices, and legal compliance for camera use is the administrator's responsibility. Users bear responsibility for their own use of the Extension.
  7. Disclaimer
    The Extension does not guarantee the accuracy of analysis or detection, or completeness of processing. False detections, misses, missing records, non-operation, and skipped cycles due to camera contention with other apps may occur. The provider is not liable for any damages arising from use of the Extension.
  8. Relationship to the Web Service and Billing
    There is no charge for the Extension itself. Charges relate to maintaining web services such as Google Drive backup and notification linkage, and do not guarantee the Extension's operation, accuracy, or availability. If the Extension does not perform as expected (for example on low-spec devices), cancel billing promptly on the web service side. Cancellation procedures and grace periods follow the web service terms.
